About Holy Spirit School

Holy Spirit School is a Catholic School educating children beginning in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. Established in September of 2000, we are proud to be accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges).  All of our teachers possess or are pursuing teaching credentials and many have advanced degrees.

Our current enrollment is over 550 students and our school colors are red and blue. Our mascot is the Coyote.

School Hours:

Pre-Kindergarten:

AM Session 8:15 - 11:15 a.m.
PM Session 12:15 - 3:15 p.m.

K-8th:  

M, T, TH, F: 8:00 a.m. to 2:55 p.m.
K-8th Wednesday Minimum Day:  8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 
K-8th Wednesday Early Dismissal: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.                                  

Faith Formation and Activities:

The school day starts with a schoolwide assembly with prayer and announcements. There are monthly school Masses, prayer services, sacramental preparation, seasonal spiritual activities and retreat opportunities. Holy Spirit Church offers many activities for students including: candle bearer, ministry of movement, altar server, liturgical choir and students in the seventh and eighth grades may be trained to become Eucharistic Ministers.

Our Core Academic Program:

Religion, Mathematics, Advanced Math for 6th - 8th grades, Language Arts (Reading, Phonics, Spelling, Grammar, Handwriting), Science, Social Studies, Computers, Music, Library,  Physical Education, and Spanish.

Catholic High School Acceptance:

Each year, over 95% of our graduating 8th graders attend the Catholic High School of their choice.

Extra Curricular Activities: 

Community Outreach, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies, Student Council, Lego Engineering, Tutoring, Cartooning, Mystery History, Drama, Music and Martial Arts.

Sports Programs: Basketball, Volleyball, Track, Softball (Girls), and Flag Football (Boys) for students in 5th through 8th grades.

Student Services:

Extended Care is open for all students at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m. Fees apply.

Parent Involvement:

Parents are required to volunteer forty (40) hours per year for a two-parent family, twenty (20) hours for a single parent. Ten (10) of these hours are performed in Student Safety. In addition, parents are asked to participate in Scrip by purchasing a minimum of $3,000 gross per year.

Uniform:

At Holy Spirit School we believe that student appearance should reflect appropriate Catholic school values. Our students wear a school uniform daily.

Tuition Assistance:

Families that need financial assistance are encouraged to apply annually for our tuition assistance program.
