Holy Spirit School proudly participates in the Art Vistas program. Art Vistas provides instruction and enrichment in art appreciation, art history and art techniques to students in K-8th grade.
Six times a year, Art Vistas parent volunteer docents bring “mini exhibits” of great works of art into the classrooms. The docents lead a short lesson with the children about the artwork followed by a hands-on lesson that provide unique and creative opportunities for the students to express themselves. Students can approach any work of art with a sense of confidence with the knowledge and language they learn from the lessons – they can discuss the artist’s use of color, line, shape, texture and value.
Every Spring, the Art Vistas Docents host our annual Art Show which features at least one work of art from each child. The Holy Spirit School and Parish community are invited to the Art Show to enjoy the children’s artistic abilities.
