The Catholic faith is the heart of instruction and non-academic activities at Holy Spirit School. To enable us to grow as a Christian faith community, various religious activities are planned throughout the year. In conjunction with Holy Spirit Parish, we offer the following programs to our students and their families.
Children in grades K-8 participate in Eucharistic celebrations. Parents are always welcome to join students for school liturgies and prayer services.
The Sacraments are usually received for the first time in the second grade. Receiving of these Sacraments is part of each child’s own parish program. Holy Spirit second grade teachers supplement parish preparation as part of the religion program in their classroom. Parents should contact their parish to arrange for receiving of the Sacraments and any specific preparation requirements of their parish.
Prayer is an integral part of the school day. Each day, students and staff gather to pray together during assembly and for monthly schoolwide Eucharistic celebrations at the Holy Spirit Church. In individual classrooms, students pray together using traditional and spontaneous prayer, meditation, and Scripture. Each class in grades 2-8 holds an annual grade level retreat.
