Every Spring, Holy Spirit School takes its sixth grade class on a four-day science field trip. The Web of Life Field School provides environmental education programs as well as life skills development. The students are exposed to learning environments in the coastal redwoods as well as the beach, resulting in a very rewarding experience.
As one Holy Spirit student said, "Science Camp was a lot of fun. It was great to be near the beach so we could study that environment and the redwood environment too. We also learned how not to be so wasteful."
The 8th grade class takes an annual trip that the students look forward to for years. Students depart Holy Spirit School via chartered buses for the trip to camp in the Sierra foothills. They stay at camp for four nights and five days including a trip to Yosemite Valley. The week consists of planned outdoor activites that teach critical thinking skills, problem solving, team building and self awareness.
One 8th grade student just returning from the trip said, " This trip was a great opportunity for the entire class to bond, and, it was the best time I had in my life!"
