In 2012, the then Commissioner of Safety and Ecology had a desire to see a garden planted on the Holy Spirit School campus. Her vision was to have a space for teaching and learning as well as creating a beautiful place on our campus. The Garden Club was formed and they raised the funds to build the garden. In May 2013, the students and parent volunteers built the garden beds on a work-day.
Today, the garden is tended by a group of parent volunteers and the Garden Club and can be used by classrooms as an outdoor learning space. In its first season, strawberries, mint, oregano, basil, tomatoes, peppers and sunflowers were grown.
