Physical Education
Holy Spirit School offers a comprehensive Kindergarten - 8th grade physical education program developed and delivered by our full-time on staff PE coach. The program is broken down by age-level. More details can be found below.
KINDERGARTEN - SECOND GRADES
- Lead healthy and active lifestyles
- Learn the fundamental skills needed to play the following sports:
- Volleyball, Football, Soccer, Basketball, Hockey, Softball, Kickball, Team Handball, Ultimate Frisbee, Lacrosse
- Demonstrate sportsmanship (Golden Rule)
- Health and Fitness:

- Define what it means to be “healthy”
- Differentiate healthy from unhealthy foods
- Learn the importance of exercise and the positive impacts it has on our body, both physically and mentally
THIRD - FIFTH GRADES
- Lead healthy and active lifestyles
- Refine and master the fundamental skills needed to play the following sports:
- Volleyball, Football, Soccer, Basketball, Hockey, Softball, Kickball, Team Handball, Ultimate Frisbee, Lacrosse
- Develop a basic understanding of offensive and defensive strategies
- Understand the essential rules, which apply to each sport
- Learn basic knowledge regarding positions
- Demonstrate sportsmanship (Golden Rule)
- Health and Fitness:

- Categorize food into the five main food groups

- Learn the importance of exercise and the positive impacts it has on our body, both physically and mentally
SIXTH - EIGHTH GRADES
- Lead healthy and active lifestyles
- Learn more advanced skills, which provide students with a competitive edge
- Master offensive and defensive strategies
- Develop a deeper understanding of positions and their roles
- Demonstrate mastery of rules in each sport
- Demonstrate sportsmanship (Golden Rule)
- Health and Fitness:

- Record and analyze dietary habits for a week and determine areas for growth
- Determine the location of major muscle groups in the body and learn how to strengthen them
