Holy Spirit School offers a comprehensive Kindergarten - 8th grade physical education program developed and delivered by our full-time on staff PE coach. The program is broken down by age-level. More details can be found below.

KINDERGARTEN - SECOND GRADES 
  • Lead healthy and active lifestyles
  • Learn the fundamental skills needed to play the following sports: 
  • Volleyball, Football, Soccer, Basketball, Hockey, Softball, Kickball, Team Handball, Ultimate Frisbee, Lacrosse 
  • Demonstrate sportsmanship (Golden Rule) 
  • Health and Fitness:  
    • Define what it means to be “healthy” 
    • Differentiate healthy from unhealthy foods 
    • Learn the importance of exercise and the positive impacts it has on our body, both physically and mentally 
 
THIRD - FIFTH GRADES
  • Lead healthy and active lifestyles 
  • Refine and master the fundamental skills needed to play the following sports: 
  • Volleyball, Football, Soccer, Basketball, Hockey, Softball, Kickball, Team Handball, Ultimate Frisbee, Lacrosse 
  • Develop a basic understanding of offensive and defensive strategies 
  • Understand the essential rules, which apply to each sport 
  • Learn basic knowledge regarding positions  
  • Demonstrate sportsmanship (Golden Rule) 
  • Health and Fitness:  
    • Categorize food into the five main food groups 
    • Learn the importance of exercise and the positive impacts it has on our body, both physically and mentally 
 
SIXTH - EIGHTH GRADES
  • Lead healthy and active lifestyles 
  • Learn more advanced skills, which provide students with a competitive edge  
  • Master offensive and defensive strategies  
  • Develop a deeper understanding of positions and their roles  
  • Demonstrate mastery of rules in each sport 
  • Demonstrate sportsmanship (Golden Rule) 
  • Health and Fitness:  
    • Record and analyze dietary habits for a week and determine areas for growth 
    • Determine the location of major muscle groups in the body and learn how to strengthen them
