New Family Welcome Program
The function of the New Family Welcome Program is to ease the transition of new families. Each spring, every new student is assigned a "buddy" in their homeroom. That buddy and their family reach out to new students/families over the summer and throughout the school year. Welcome families provide the one-on-one contact that is so helpful during the transitional first year at school.
A welcome family will help new families learn about Holy Spirit events and activities, can offer tips for how to navigate our processes and provides a new friend to alleviate first day of school jitters. All new families and their buddies take part in the annual ice cream social so that everyone has a chance to get their bearings on campus before school begins.
The New Family Welcome Program typically hosts park days during the summer to allow new students to meet and interact with their future classmates. In light of current events, Holy Spirit School is exploring ways to provide these connections while following current health and safety guidelines. If you are a new family and would like to hear from one of our New Family Welcome Liaisons, please fill out this form.
