Student Leadership Opportunities

Holy Spirit School offers two unique opportunities for our middles school students to develop valuable leadership skills.  Students in 5th, 6th or 7th grade are invited to consider joining Student Council and students in 6th and 7th grade are invited to consider becoming a Student Ambassador. Through these programs, we hope to provide our students with skills to become the Catholic Christian leaders of tomorrow.

Student Council

Student Council is an elected group of students in 6th to 8th grade consisting of nine members guided by two faculty moderators. The purpose of Student Council is to enable the students to cultivate leadership, organization and communication skills. Each council member is responsible for assigned duties as described in the Holy Spirit School Student Council Constitution. Each student council member is paired with a faculty mentor to work with throughout the school year.  Student Council also plans rallies, dances and takes an active role in helping the student body live out the Gospel values through encouraging students to share their God-given gifts.

Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors are a small group of students, from the 7th and 8th grade, dedicated to the positive promotion of Holy Spirit School. They serve as liaisons between the current HSS community and prospective students and their families. Student Ambassadors represent the entire student body.  Student ambassadors are selected from 6th and 7th grade applicants.  Directed by dedicated parent volunteers, Student Ambassadors have the unique opportunity to develop and receive training in communication, marketing and interpersonal skills. They take an active role at Open Houses, community events and during campus tours.
